I agree with you :] but some fillers are just avoidable. Like, for example, AKAIWS - there were too many fillers in the middle of the story, especially after Elena got out of the hospital. A few people pointed it out, and I concluded that they were right when I re-read it, in order to catch any mistakes I had done, and etc. So yeah, I'm posting it on LJ now and I'm removing some of those fillers. Sure, people there won't know some parts of the story, some minimum details that were funny and all, but those chapters didn't add anything to the story so I decided to remove them. It doesn't lose anything major, so I'm not worried about it XD
yeah an opinion always helps :) I really don't know how it happens. I've got small descriptions in my story plans but I when I get down on writing it for real, it ends up being huge. And having complicated characters with a complicated past and complicated social relations UGH it's not easy. But I've got this goal of keeping the chapters around 3,000 words. Not many more, except some casual exceptions. I just -
I just want something particular to happen every chapter, to make it really important and not a filler of any kind, y'know? And that's really complicated. I don't like those stories that move on too fast, because they don't seem real at all, and I like that realistic combination in my brain. I dunno why. Is it just me?
True. I used to update every day too, but it was way back in the beginning of my writing. I had very tiny chapters compared to the ones I have now XD I dunno if that's quite a good thing, but yeah, my stories seem longer and longer with time.
Speaking of which. Do you think my chapters are too long?
I thought so, too. I mean, at least, you come home every Friday from school with that knowlegde that you're gonna have one of my updates ^^ it's something to look forward, isn't it? :) and yeah, I like when the readers ask questions and are intrigued by what's going to happen. It's my goal, and if it's working, I'm definitely more than happy about it :D!
Hey Pixie, no, I think there are some things I don't mention immediately but that will make sense further in the story. I can't be sure, but I think it's to make people be curious and ask me questions. And it's worked so far XD there were 2 people asking me for Gerard, so it definitely worked! and yeah, it will only be next week, but I'm gonna have a busy weekend and am gonna restart classes on Monday, so maybe I won't write much. So thank God I've got, like, 4 chapters already done... but keep it a secret, don't wanna be pressured into posting them sooner. I'm sorry if it's unfair that you know about them *hugs*
<3 Apple
HI! Thanks :D! and alright, Gerard is gonna mention it in the next chapter but I'm gonna tell you now XD well, it's not that he's not at home, he just doesn't come for dinner because he sees is therapist every week. but he will mention her next week (I mean, in the next chapter!)
I know! but its fun cuz you can make something oober shitty happen to them. Ha! dont piss me off! I made you! lmao. Reasons im not god: i tend to take advantage of power. lol.
T_T that sounds quite sad, Pixie, but hey, it will get better. I remember when I entered a lot of contests, it was last summer, and I had faith in so many stories I had written because people said they were great, yadda yadda yadda. And then I got 3rd place most of the time too, because there was this girl (doesn't matter who, because she's a great friend of mine) that wrote stories and was awesomely famous around and always got 1st place, y'know? It was quite frustrating, to the poin that I didn't want to write oneshots anymore. So yeah, I understand what you're feeling, but I also think that you don't have to feel like that. You have your stories, you wrote them so they gotta make you proud :) if you do that, writing and feeling proud of having made it, there's no contest that will put you down XD because some contests are a matter of choosing the host's best friend. Not all of them, but sometimes it happens, so they're just for the fun of writing. At least I learned to see contests that way and I'm happy with any result I get ;D
and next Friday or Saturday there will be an update, it's a promise! <3
:) I'm glad we think the same way. And well, I wrote a LOT in this last week, so if you're having 2 weeks off soon, I think you're gonna be able to write a lot too :D or at least I hope so. I've entered some contests too, so let's hope I finish my entries, hehe ^^
and good luck with those contests you're writing for! *hugs*
Well, I'm trying to keep the updates coming once a week to not make the readers excited about daily updates or something and, then, when I get back in school, I don't have as much time for the story as I do now. So yeah I'm trying to be rational and keep the updates really casual, because I don't want people running away if I take a few more days going without updating. Because if I don't want to update now, it's only not to spoil all of you *laughs*
And well, I haven't done much lately. Been on vacation and that's about it XD I'm trying to write a lot, to compensate those time when there's so much homework that I can't do anything at all besides focusing on schoolwork ^^
HAI Pixie -grins-
thank you for another comment on my story, hehe. I'm guessing some readers against my Gerard, but he will learn his lesson. You'll see ;)
And yes, there will be more soon. I've been writing like crazy, and I've been stupidly inspired for this story, so it's moving on very quickly, I assume. Which I think is something really good :)
