The Bible literally labels its God as a jealous deity. And I don't mean questions about his existence not allowing you to go to heaven, I mean in Genesis, the tree that Eve picks fruit from, it's not actually an apple tree, that's actually a misconception from Paradise Lost, it's the tree of knowledge. One bite, and you're aware. Don't you think that's interesting? I feel like it's metaphoric for my views on religion, like this complete acceptance of an omnipotent god and his book that's been proven to have so many errors is only acceptable behind a curtain, an entire culture shielded in, ignoring the tree of knowledge in front of them because someone higher up told them to.
What do you mean answering our questions? I think that Christianity is the perfect religion, it must have been so carefully chosen, such a perfect con. You do as this ancient text says without any proof or you're damned for eternity, and you can't ask any questions because it's all in the Bible, what else do you need to know? When something good happens, it's a blessing from God, when something bad happens, he's just testing you. It really started to grow at the fall of the Roman empire, when tension was high, and the entire society that was the pinnacle of human civilization was crumbling. And ever heard of the middle ages? Well hot damn, if that wasn't the millennium-long era of stupidity throughout Europe during which life focused on, wait for it, Christianity. Coincidence? I think not. Have you ever seen medieval art? It was hideous. People didn't want to challenge God's work, so they didn't make it realistic. And it's all got to do with Jesus. Byzantine art is flat, frontal, floating, faith, and let me tell you, it's just a hell of a lot of Jesus's on a gold background. People stopped learning, they stopped creating real works of art, they stopped everything that makes society great.
