And I think, even if I did get a band started, as a female vocalist, the people who would be interseted in the type of music would be limited. I've noticed all guy bands have larger fan bases than female fronted bands... except for bands like Paramore and Evanescence, because they're just amazing, and I could never even begin to compare with Amy Lee... :)

yeah, that's another thing I'm afraid of: finding people, but they wont be commited to it like I am.

At my school there are two very sucessful bands. They play local gigs and stuff, and everyone knows about them. I really want to get to that point, cause they're already farther than I can immagine myself getting.

Then there are the bands that never leave the basement, and I hope that doesn't happen to me... if I ever even start a band >.>

I'm not in a band either, I'm just to shy to start one. One time, my two best friends and i were planning a band, but then we realized that it wouldn't really work. I play piano and guitar, one of my friends just plays the clarinet, and my other friend just plays piano. We can all sing, but the ballance of instruments would be strange :)

I want to ask some guys at school join me, to play bass, drums, or whatever... but I'm not comfortable enough around them to even ask them.

Yeah, that's all very true, but I still cant help but feel helplessly lost in this life. There is so much that i expect of myself, and what my parents expect of me. They both work at the university hospital with a well paying, college educated job. and I'm all into music and art, things that dont have as much of a promising future.

As much as I want to be the one on stage, singing my heart out, I realize how many other teenagers want the exact same thing. And how rare it is to make it big. And then it just annoys me how people like Paris Hilton, are all like "I'm bored, Daddy, can i make a record?" cause it's not their passion, it's just an activity. People like them dont realize how many people would die for that record deal. It just annoys me >.>

It's good you've found an effective outlet for it. For me, I'm still trying to find it. My lyrics are rough, unedited emotion, and it doesn't satisfy me casue I'm a perfectionist. But music in general serves that purpose, and therefore, it has saved my life, and IS my life.
I want more than anything to have my career to involve music, but it's such a competative field, I find myself scared of the future, scared of living a dull life, not involving music. they're depressing thoughts

haha, I procrastinate all the time, which is bad since school starts on monday >.<
and I dont think my poems are very good... I just use them to vent emotions, just like I do with my journal entries :)

I read some of your poems, and, just, wow... they're amazing and the words just flawlessly flow together...
and singing is my passion, I love everything about it. I write some of my own songs too, but I dont have any completed. They're mostly just lyrics at this point, and parts of the piano part, but it's hard to complete it.
