Anyway, update on the situation -- the cops found a knife on Friday afternoon with a note saying the gun wasn't a joke or somehting like that. ):

Well school administrators spazzed so there were cops everywhere. My friends and I all ditched halfway through second block because only a few people were at school, so the teachers weren't doing anything >>
The school elections we were supposed to be having were moved to Monday; I'm hoping nothing happens then ><

That's really cool, but it must suck having to pick your career at fifteen >>
I'm actually in Info Tech class right now; everyone's freaking out 'cause there's been some threat of a school shooting today. -.-

Welll, basically you can apply for any job you want. Whether or not they hire you is a totally different thing; if you have the qualifications though, you can pretty much get the job you want.

welll, the school system here differs depending on where you're from. Where I live, there is the option of preschool at age 3 and/or 4, then Kindergarten begins at age 5. Grade 1 (age 6) to 5 (age 10) are taken in Elementary school, 6 (age 11) to 8 (age 13) are taken in Middle school, and High school begins in grade nine (14) and goes through till grade 12 (18) where you graduate and have the option for applying to post-secondary education, ie. university, college... etc. Some high schools start at grade 8 to allow middle school kids the option of starting school early. high school is the first chance we have to choose our own courses though -- some are required, but there are usually two or three slots a year you can fill with electives, and the number of those slots grow until grade twelve when out of the required courses, the only one you must have is English 12. You need to have written all the provincial exams and obtain a certain number of credits to graduate, as well as completing a Grad Transition Plan (which is like... work experience and physical activity hours)... it's all crazy complicated.
