  • Yeah, it’s definitely fun :). Otherwise I wouldn’t be getting up at 5AM every morning, haha. I don’t think your idea sounds unambitious. It just sounds like a good back up plan! I think it’s very courageous that you want to be a writer, while that’s a really uncertain business and all. And it keeps surprising me how much money it actually costs to go to school after high school in the US. Seems like we lucked out here in Belgium.
And no worries. I saw on Tumblr you were still alive, so it’s all good :). Plus I’ve been in London for four days plus busy with work and trying to arrange somewhat of a social life, so I haven’t spend all that much time on Mibba myself.

  • I guess I made an impression then, haha.

French is a beautiful language, it's just difficult. Lots of rules and even more exceptions to those rules, haha. But it's not as difficult as Dutch, that's just a crazy language. Glad it's my native language and it comes natural to me :). Japanese seems wicked! I know some people who studied Chinese at university. I've always heard that's the most difficult language ever. That's probably why I only know one word in Chinese, haha.

And yes, I'm a scientist. I have a bachelor and masters degree in Molecular Life Sciences. And I am currently in neuroscience (and hope to be for a long long time), doing R&D on Parkinson's disease. I actually should adjust my header, since I got permission to start my PhD a couple of weeks ago :). So I hope to be a PhD in Molecular Life Sciences in four years from now :).

  • Aw, thanks! I definitely consider that a compliment :).
I have the same thing with Spanish. I took it one year in high school. But it was an extra course, only one hour a week and it feels like it’s been ages. So I can’t say much more than that in Spanish, haha.
My French is only slightly better though. I had it from age 10 to 18 and I was pretty okay at it. But I use it only very rarely, so it’s gotten very rusty. And trust me, if you’re ever in France, you’re going to want to know how to ask directions to the nearest Mc Donalds, not how to order steak and fries, haha.

Awesome name! If only that were true, haha! Mine is http://www.silencespeakslouderthanwords.tumblr.com . I noticed you’re already following me :).

  • No, it isn’t. Dutch is my first language, French is supposed to be my second. Emphasis on supposed there, haha. I’m from an tiny troublesome country called Belgium. Land of chocolate and beer :).
And thank you! English has always been a language that feels kind of natural to me. Probably because even growing up, most music I listened too and tv shows I watched were all in English. Plus being a scientist and working in an international company helps too :). I suppose my speaking is okay as well, I just have a heavy accent. Or at least that’s what Sierra told us when I went to see VersaEmerge, haha.
Oh, I’ve been meaning to ask: do you have a Tumblr? I finally caved and got one a few weeks ago, so now I’m looking for cool people to follow ;).

  • Phew. Good, good :).
Glad that you get what I mean. In the end, us older fans end up being the cool kids, huh? All calm and collected, no worries or craziness when the rest of the fanbase get shaken by private life news, haha.

Off note: I totally had to look up the word elitist XD. I spend so much thing on English websites that I sometimes forget it isn't my native language. But I totally love learning new fancy english words. Eloquent is probably my favorite :).

  • Exactly!
And well, didn't we all hope that ;)!
I know it sounds strange, but when things like this happen, I sometimes which they would have less fans. Or well, not less fans, I want them to do good. Just... less crazy fans :). Older fans, cause I feel like a lot of the hate comes from 13 year olds who are still in their 'I listen to this band because they have pretty faces & I'm going to marry one of them when I grow up' phase. (Please tell me you are not 13 or so and I haven't offended you!) But I guess they'll grow out of it eventually. Cause I used to be liket that once, a long time ago. But now at 24, I just can put things in perspective better.
As for the whole sex symbol thing... Maybe it would help if the guy actually managed to keep his clothes on while being on stage, haha!

  • Aw, that's cool!

I don't really know Sarah, aside from her blog+twitter, but she seems like a great girl. Plus she seems to make Brendon superhappy. It's horrible that people are all hating on her because she's dating him/is engaged to him. I'm all like 'Seriously? What, you don't want the guy to be happy?' For me, as long as he keeps continuing to make awesome music, I couldn't care less who he's dating or marrying or whatever.

  • Wonderful choice! I want to get 'Storms of Fabled Foreign Tongues' from Northern Downpour tattood, but I'm still looking for the right notes.

Whether or not Ryden was real (I'm not really a believer, I just think they make good stories, haha), I'm over the moon for Brendon and Sarah. Because they make a great couple and they deserve to be happy. Plus I had a wonderful time reading all the ridiculous tumblr comments. Who needs tv when you have Tumblr, haha?
    September 20th, 2011 at 09:54pm
  • Aww, thanks :). Which lyrics are you getting tattood? Very cool btw!
Ryden is my absolute favorite fictional pairing, so of course I would know that poem, haha. Though I must admit, Klaine from Glee is giving them some serious competition. And that was even before Sarah shattered all Ryden fan's dreams this weekend, haha.

  • *gasp* THAT'S JUST SCANDELOUS ;) hehehe
Oh my gosh, I know the feeling, I understand. Maybe one day the legend of myrtle beach will continue in your story haha

  • Hi ... so I wrote a short story based off the scenario of your story "Too Proud to Breathe." Would you be okay with it if I posted it but gave you credit in the author's note? :)

Haha, that song, "I THINK I LOVE YOU, SO WHAT AM I SO AFRAID OF..." by The Partridge [sp?] Family.
    Yep.
    July 14th, 2010 at 03:16am
  • YES. I'm glad you don't think I'm creepy.
And I love getting ego-boosting comments! Whenever I get them, I do a little dance and go, "OH YES." Then I smile a lot. Yes, ego-boosters are gooooood.
