If you still enjoy the viola, by all means, continue to pursue it. Don't just throw all those hours of practice - no matter how many or few - for the cello, which you haven't even started yet. Besides, instruments are pretty expensive, right?

...Well, actually, that's a lie. I could probably write her if I was focused. Since it's in First Person POV, it's hard to get the character just right, you know? You've gotta be on the same or similar wavelength so as not to disturb the character's natural feelings or behavior. I know that sounds really cheesy and overly dramatic, but I think that it's a crucial element when writing.
