Yep. Jack had a lost of pressure on him because
A) he loves Andrea
B) his parents already love her
So if he didn't make a good impression, it would have been all "OMFG whyyy?!" lol.

And yes. Even though Andy's mom isn't around very much, they still have a really close relationship. While she doesn't know all the details of her daughter's life, she knows that teenagers + hormones = naked sexy time.
