Oh, that wasn't supposed to be a mystery. They were helping her move, that's why they were in the trailer with boxes and such. Garrett offered earlier in the story, when he went to the apartment with Hummingbird for the first time.

I never planned on her and her dad having a screaming match. It's not Hummingbird's style; she's much more subtle. And I'm sorry to hear about that, your dad I mean. My dad's a bit of a disappointment as well. Not that he left, just that he left and then came back and has never been quite what I need. So I get you on that one.

Well she had to call her dad. It's like, he has full custody of her, so when something big like that happens, her mom just can't keep it from him. I mean, my parents are divorced, so I like get it and stuff, because there have been things that have happened with my mom and she has to tell my dad, even though she has full custody of me and everything. It's hard to explain, but obviously her mom didn't want it to happen. But it had to happen because she had to tell him, you know?
I think Garrett redeemed himself a little when he came back in the morning haha. :)
And I'm hoping to get the next chapter out tonight! I have all day to write, soooo... :D
