    Hey Lisa!

    MIT is a university.

SAT stands for Standard Aptitude Test. It is taken by almost everyone.

ACT stands for American College Testing. This test isn't taken by most, as many students prefer SAT over ACT. The reason being for this is that ACT has a science section as well. SAT only consists of a math and English section. Hope this clears up everything for you!

I'll help you fix it up! Very Happy

    Hey Lisa!

It would be really easy to just change the major from Engineering to Law. All you have to do is to change 'MIT' to 'Harvard' in the first chapter. Then, everything would make sense! I'm going to send you the 2nd chapter soon! Very Happy

It's up to you to link it! I really don't mind! Wink

    Hey Lisa!

    Sorry for replying late!
I've seen the profile comment, and have already checked out chapter #4.
I am going to proofread the chapters as soon as I can. Smile

    One thing . . .
I'm wondering if London's parents dream of her being a lawyer or an engineer. You see, the confusion stems from the fact that MIT is known for engineering. . .

Also, if you choose to give credits for editing, please do list my pseudonym(VeronaViridian) rather than my real name!

    Thanks!
    Now,
    Hi ho hi ho . . .
It's off to work I go! Very Happy

See? That's the whole point about Onam! All of the people of Kerala celebrate Onam . . .
Religion is not the matter here! See? Cultural & religious unity! That's the beauty of Onam!
Concerning Hindu mythology . . . I'm not an expert, but I would try my best to explain anything to you! Very Happy

Sorry! I just got back from vacation!
I will get right down to it! Dance

    Cool! Now it's official!
I should put 'Story Consultant' in my resume! Thumb up

Aww . . . You are quite affectionate!
No problems! I love to help, and I will try to get it done by sometime today. . . Very Happy

I would love to be your consultant! Oh my, that sound like such an official title! I'm very opinionated, if you haven't noticed that already! Whistle

Yes, I'm now residing in India! It's great! Yes, the lamb curries, and saris are something to be proud of! Not that I can make either of them! Smile

Onam is a statewide festival of Kerala (a state in India), which lasts for about 10 days. Legend has it that there was this great, demon king named Maveli a long time ago. All of his people loved him, no matter what religion, or caste they were. He treated them all the same, with no partiality. During his reign, there was no anxiety, deciet, theft, lies, disease, deaths (of children) etc. Thus, the people of Kerala were safe and happy. He was so well liked that even the Gods (yes, Hindus have many!) started to hear about his majestic glory. Fearing that he had become too powerful, the lord Vishnu (the preserver & one of the Trimurtis for Hindus) transformed into a dwarf called Vamana, went to king Maveli, and asked for alms. Impressed by the wisdom of the dwarf, king Maveli granted him one wish.

Vamana thought to himself, and finally asked for 3 paces of land. Seems simple enough, right?
Well, after Maveli agreed to give Vamana the 3 paces of land, Vamana increased his size tremendously, and grew to be a giant!
With the first step, Vamana claimed the whole sky. With the second step, Vamana claimed the netherworld. When Maveli realized that the third step can destroy the Earth as a whole, Maveli offered his own head for the last step.

Vamana's 3rd step sent Maveli into the neterworld. Before banishment, Maveli requested a chance to visit his people once a year. Thus, during the festival days of Onam, the demon king, Maveli is supposed to be visiting us! We celebrate to welcome the kind king.

How is the story? Very Happy
    Hope you liked it!
    Whew . . . that was a lot!
Please Google Onam to learn the rituals/traditons, because I'm not an expert when it comes to all of them! Wink

Aww . . Thanks! You are too kind! Smile

I would never use the word 'flawless' because no one is perfect, but I do have a tendency to catch errors often. Thus, I would try to do my best, and get chapter 1 done A.S.A.P. Yes, before going AWOL! Hehe . . .

Anyway, it's so great to meet you too, Lisa from Indonesia! I'm really glad that I got the opportunity to indulge in one of your works, as it is truly beautiful! I don't think skype would be of much help, as I won't be able to get to any computers for the next 6 days, or so. I live in Kerala, India, and we have this statewide festival known as Onam. Thus, I would be visiting relatives starting Monday!

Please don't call your story 'ill-written', as it is most certainly not that! It's easily fixable! Very Happy

    Let's try this . . .

London had a well treasured best friend, a picture perfect family that adored her, and even a hunky boyfriend that seemed to care for her. Her life really did seem to be perfect! That is, until that ill-fated party. . .

Someone spiked London's drink with a roofie that night . . . She didn't know whether it was date rape, or if she just lost her well coveted virginity by will. . .
OK, you see that I changed the 'in vain' part. According to Oxford Dictionary, the phrase 'in vain' literally means 'without success or a result'. Um .. . I guess you could fit in the 'in vain' part, but the problem being that she isn't that doubtful about losing her virginity right? If she was raped, she lost it . . . Thus, the 'if she lost her virginity' fragment is irrelevant, in my personal opinion. Thus, I think you could say,'her well coveted virginity in vain', if you still like the phrase! Smile

Someone purposefully ruined London's academic presentation with a rape/sex tape video, that drove away both her scholarship, and her chances of ever getting into her dream university. . .

Someone spread London's naked pictures throughout the whole school, which resulted in the losing of her boyfriend, and friends. . .

Someone sent an anonymous letter to her parents with the naked pictures, and that infamous sex tape to London's parents. Thus, she lost her allowance, and every ounce of respect from her family. . .

London didn't know what she did to deserve this fate. She didn't understand why someone tried so hard to ruin her life. The worst part was when her parents decided to kick her out, the moment they found out that she was pregnant. She is out in the streets now, carrying the child of some mysterious man that no one seemed to know. Heck, she doesn't even know!

Someone hated her so much . . . That much, she understood, but you could only imagine her surprise when she finds out that all this while, that 'someone' was none other than her only best friend, Lily!

OK .. . you can see that I posted here . . . Hope that is OK, and I hope that this helps! Lol . . . I think I even made it longer! :)

    Hey there!

Haha . . Um I was born in India, but I did live in US up till last year! That might be the reason why the language isn't a big problem for me. Either way, India is keen on teaching English as well. Thus, I have this feeling that I would've been okay even if I stayed in India itself!

Sure, I would love to edit! Like I have said before. . . You aren't being a burden at all, but the thing is that I might just take my sweet time with it. I won't be online at all next week. I'm totally planning on going AWOL! Hehe . .

I guess you could do something with the summary after all . . . Let me try to fix it up a bit!

If you like how I do that, then I can edit for you as well. . . This will be like a trial run! Give me a min to pull up your story . . . Do you mind me posting it here, or do you want me to sent you a PM?

Btw . . . Verona is a pen name, a pseudonym if you will.
    I'm Abha . . . It's nice to meet you! :)

    Hello!

Yes, you do tend to attract readers that way! Never mind what I said about the summary giving too much away! Very Happy

On the other hand, you do have a lot of grammatical errors in the summary, including run on sentences. . .

I would love to take a look at it, if you are still looking for someone to edit your work! Wink
