Oh haha xD yeah I've been casually browsing some horses for sale but I try not to look, I've found quite a few nice horses for quite cheap. If only they were for sale when I was actually looking haha. Oh well
Aw that's too bad, I'm sure you'll find another horse that will work out soon though! Seems there have been a lot of good horses for good prices lately :) I am 20, how bout you?
Ooh that's exciting! I love Arabians too. Hopefully it works out for you! Is he trained in English or western, or had much training? My favourite breed is the Standardbred :) My mare is a Standardbred and I love working with her. I've always loved the baroque type breeds too but don't own any haha.
I keep my horses at home too haha. We have a small arena but there's not a lot of room in it to do much jumping, can set up maybe two or three jumps, but it gets pretty crowded and not a lot of room. We've made our own jump standards too xD the one in your profile pic looks sorta like the ones we made.
It would be nice to be able to ride somewhere with a bigger arena and an actual course of jumps. It was nice in Pony Club though since we took our horses to lessons and were able to do a ton of jumping and some cross country and all, and did clinics at different barns so it was fun. It was kinda hard keeping up with Pony Club though since I always had my horses at home, or trained at my instructors place so I was never at the barn where everyone else in my group was. I was kinda left outta the loop on some things because of it haha. Our Pony Club wasn't really set up that well when I was in it though :/
That sounds nice! I haven't done much dressage. If I had the horse for it I definitely would've done more.
Competitive trail riding is like endurance, except some of the rides are timed, so you have to finish in a certain amount of time and pass vet checks, and they're usually shorter than endurance races I believe. I've never done it though, but I'm going to look into starting next spring if my mare is up for it. If not I'll probably just do some more relaxed rides myself haha.
Ohh yeah I used to do some western but I don't have a western saddle that fits my horse either haha. I didn't do Pony Club for very long because I didn't have a horse at the time that was up to my level for jumping. I used my instructor's horse for a bit, but my mare I was training was not ready at the time. I don't show, but I was looking into doing competitive trail riding. :) Do you show?
That's cool! Sounds like training your rescue colt will be fun :)
I did Pony Club several years back for awhile. I used to do a lot of jumping when I was in Pony Club but I was only in it for a few years unfortunately. I have an ex harness racer I've retrained to jump, I had her jumping around 3ft but unfortunately she colicked this year and had to have surgery, so I haven't been riding a lot lately :/ I also have a TB mare I've been working with. I mainly ride English and bareback. =]
Thank you so much for your comments pertaining to the one-shot. I honestly just wrote it out of the blue all in one night, so it really was odd for something like that to come to me and for me not to create a long(er) story for it. I'm glad you ran across it, actually. :) But I hope you'll enjoy the other stories I've created since you've last read them. :) Again, thank you so much for the comments. I'm glad to know I've improved in my writing skills. :) Again, thank you so much.
