I used to quite like RE because I already knew most of it - I'm a Christian and have been going to church pretty much since my birth. Apart from a few rusty patches I know the bible fairly well. I know a little bit about most other religions.
Hmm, that sounds cool... I can't think of any jewish festivals besides Passover and Hanukka, though... and those tend to coincide with Easter and Christmas. Oh, and there's one with starts with Pash, or Pah or something... although that might have been islamic... Ah, gone are the days when I could recite the religious calender for my RE teacher.
I know! I was discussing this with another USian the other day. Apparently you're on 2 semesters, whereas we have a 3 term system. It means we have more holidays but less long. So our summer break is 6 weeks.
The describing things is just a staple of the Victorian novel though. They didn't have TV or photographs, so they had descriptions in their novels. Having read a load of other bits from the same era, you kinda realise that the Bronte sisters were pretty good.
I'm out of school now - got out two weeks ago. Back in four weeks.
Wow, sounds completely hectic. More chaotic even than my last few days. Although I've only just started my holiday. I guess you're further up the Chaos scale than myself.
I just started reading Jane Eyre for next year, and am loving it! I'd forgotten how well written it was for a Victorian Era novel.
Sounds logical. A lot of stuff comes from Japan and we don't even realise it...
Yeah, it was pretty good. He's been out of my head for a while now, and it feels nice. Now I just need to sort out all this college/ uni application stuff before I die of stress!!
I've never understood where Hello Kitty came from. Was she ever a cartoon?
Too true. I tried to avoid anything ugly/ drunk/ bad hair day etc.
Yeah, I had a clean-out just recently, and I hate getting rid of anything with sentimentality value. But I did manage to through out all the bits I'd kept from going out with my now-ex-boyfriend, which was a good step!
Thanks! I'll be honest, I have no clue what quote you're talking about, because everything I say somehow gets lost in a cluttered filing cabinet I call my memory, so I'm going to go find out what I wrote that was awesome, just because.... well, because I have no life.
Ah, IOU's are always funny! It was one of my bf's birthday's today, and I'd made her a collage of a load of facebook pictures. I think she really liked it. ^_^
Wow! lots of frogs!! My grandma used to have an amazing collection of everything frog, but then she moved into a smaller house and had to get rid of practically all of them. :(
Glad you had a nice time! What did you get apart from pj's? I never know what to buy my friends! I usually end up latching on to something they say months before hand in order to eliminate the possibility of not having an idea when the actual date looms...
I know what a chainsaw is, but what pray-tell, is a bushwhacker or a weedwhacker?
Oo, it sounds nice! Well, in that case, I don't really have to plan an escape route, I can just walk out before they become disgruntled again. Do you get to use that on teachers when you haven't got your homework to hand in?!
Awesomeness! I will call on you when in future desperation.
What special magical abilities are these?
Just so I can plan in advance - if we're flying out I might need a raincoat.
Oo, that wouldn't be good... I'd probably wake-up surrounded by really p---d off computer junkie people, all weilding their mouses and keyboards at me... Please don't join them!
