Hansel & Gretel - Comments

  • What a unique piece of art!

It starts off with a peaceful scene, like a gentle rolling wave. You managed to make a progression from that to something generally considered gruesome and disgusting, all while keeping the tone you began with. Looking past the literal meaning of the last two lines, these few but deep lines hold a multitude of metaphors.

I love how you dared to go where not many are willing! So many would shy away from the mention of bowels. It takes genuine skill to write something short but still carry a message.

In my opinion, this poem represents the nature of human kind. People have a tendency to leave a trail of their baggage behind them, not caring that it inconveniences others. As long as they can retrace their steps, as long as others knew they were there... that's what matters to them.

I've never read anything quite like this! Excellent job!
