Lovely. I agree with Sunber; you capture a child-like innocence and fear in your haiku. Well done.

It affected me when I was a child. I was terrified of storms up until I was about 9 years old. Then I was playing soccer and it was raining really hard. It turned into a lightning storm and I was looking at it, now, from my Dad's big pickup truck. It finally sunk in that it couldn't hurt me and that it was almost beautiful in the sense that this was nature and it had the power to create and destroy. It truly had "the power" and you can't fear something with power, you have to face it. And yes, I tried to find a better background image, however, I couldn't find a picture that I felt captured the emotion other than this one. Haha :)

This is very interesting. You do seem to capture the child-like thoughts in the "few amount of syllables [you were] allotted". I can picture you running in the field, scared of the storm. I'd be interested to know if it has affected you in any way; are you scared of storms now etc. Well done. I would encourage a different background image. Perhaps with a child instead of a horse, haha :)
