Your welcome babes, I'm a bit better at drumming than guitar and I sing a bit better than I scream, but I just love the guitar sound. And Screaming is just a way to help let out anger and frustration especially when I think about the past............not going there, but it helps. But I fear that if I don't have someone to train me how to scream then I will blow out my voice box (It has happened to lots and I refuse to be one of those). My issue is raising my voice. I used to sing very well as a kid, but I got sick and didn't hack up mucus when I should of and it kinda fucked up my singing then I just stopped altogether. So to start again it's rough but I'm managing

That's sad, I may not feel your pain as much but I can tell he meant the world. Honestly I didn't get into A7X till after he died. I got into them more and I understand their meaning, I wish I heard them earlier, I truly do. I've been through so much shit, and their songs are just what I need and should of needed when things got........complicated. I am NOT a band wagon fan AT ALL! I have the decency, unlike most "fans", to know who Jimmy (Or should I call him James? Nah, I prefer Jimmy) is (NOT was because he still lives on!) and got to know more about the band itself.

I heard nightmare before but on demand stopped playing stuff after a while (I lost internet too so it was the dark ages) then 3 days before his one year death anniversary I heard so far way on Christmas on the MC Rock channel. For some reason it kinda connected me and urged me to hear them again. 3 days later, with it being his 1st year death and all, the most popular videos played (Seize The Day, Beast and The Harlot, So Far Away, and Nightmare) I listened to them all but Seize The Day triggered a kind of memory for me, it was like I heard it before but yet it was my first time hearing them. After a while I got more into them and needed to hear more.

I found out about other albums, the band in general, the guys names and stage names, and etc. I had friends online from my childhood who told me about them and I was familiar with Syn and Matt's faces but never heard a damn song (Probably had but forgot considering my young age) I then began to watch interviews and now (Even after two years) I can really see how much Jimmy was such an amazing guy. Now I try not to cry when I hear 'So Far Away' 'Victim" (That song is VERY connected to me for personal reasons.....) 'Fiction' (His voice just makes me want to burst into tears knowing it can never be heard again) even when I stare at certain pictures of him I try not to cry (Sometimes I fail) and when I read quotes on what the guys had to say of his death and how it made him feel (Especially Syn with "More importantly he was my best friend" ::crying: tearing up just thinking about it)

I am truly dedicated to this band. I already planned out my tattoos for the future of this band (Getting the a7x deathbat as a tramp-stamp, scripture dedicated to The Rev that will include song titles and "FICTION" on the side of my foot) and I AM getting ALL the albums, I have Avenged Sevenfold and Nightmare downloaded on my laptop, and an app for my iPod so I can listen to all the albums, but I NEED to own all the albums. Its a must for me. And Im getting a shit load of A7X band merch (Plan on having 2-3 tops of all my fav bands -I have a shit load of bands I like- but for a7x I'm getting not just tees - more than likely 10 or over and they are all going to be different- but hoodies, accessories, buttons, posters, and MANY others (Also I gotta get some of Zacky Vee's clothing too that is a must!)

But over all A7X is basically my savior, I can't go a day with out listening to them or knowing an update of the band (Hence why deathbat news, avengedsevenfold, and avenged sevenfold fanfic is my homepage). But it's hard trying to be a dedicated fan without people assuming Im a wanna-be-poser white girl and shit (I'm African-American so many people look down or are shocked that I listen, know, and love rock. Especially when I talk about old school rock) but I can see why The Rev means a lot, he inspires you! The guy is truly amazing! Just by the interviews or some pictures I feel the emotion/energy he has and feeds off towards people. I wish I'd known them before his death. I really do.

Honestly M Shadows has inspired me to start doing metal screams and wanting to start my own band and Zacky and Syn are guys I look up to want to finish learning the guitar. Johnny (Though he doesn't say much and bass isn't my instrument) inspires me that even the shortest come up tall (Im 5'3 and it fucking sucks ass! Barely reaching the damn first shelf and shit) over all they all inspire me. I look up to Avenged Sevenfold. If a7x were to end or if someone else were to die in the band I don't know how'd I'd even take it. It'll shatter me completely.

I'm glad you posted this poem, I can sense how Jimmy means so much too you, that I do. And keep on drumming! I encourage that and so would The Rev

You're welcome. I mean...it's nice to know that other people still take the time to remember that great man. He meant a lot to me too. Just think of it this way....if he were still alive and you met him and told him you were trying to be a drummer too....I imagine he would have smiled his signature, heart melting smile and told you to keep following that dream and that you would make it. That's just who he was. It doesn't matter that he's not with us anymore on earth, because he is still with us all in spirit. I'm sure he's rooting for ya. Smile lol I'll hush now....I just love Jimmy so much haha.

I'm not as into A7X as I used to be when I was younger, but they mean a lot to me. The Rev was quite a character and I miss him, too. I met him, once, funny story :')
Like Brian said, God wanted Jimmy by His side.
