Wow, way to rip my heart out and stomp on it. MY GOSH THIS ONE IS SO EMOTIONAL. Not only do I feel so bad for the narrator (you) for ever feeling like this, but I just love this poem. SO MUCH.
I know this feeling so well. My ex told me all of these lovely things about coming back and being in love with me and her friends were agreeing and telling me that this was all good and I should get back with her (the "little bird" in this scenario) and then she got with another girl right after. So, this poem really hit home.
Even if I didn't have personal experience with this, this amazing poem would pack a punch of emotion for any reader. I love it love it love. Great job of course.
