Revising your work is a good thing to do as a poet. It causes you to look critically on your thought process and reason for writing something. However, I do not advice over-editing. This is an excellent and well thought out piece, which in my opinion is perfect.
You do have a gift for poetry, and this piece exemplifies this gift. The language you used was imaginative and fantastic, and it allowed me (as a reader) to gain a glimpse of insight into your mind. Thank you for sharing this piece, and good job!
