Loved this! The imagery is really strong here - "glimpses of skin and clanking dishes masked by the sound of rattling trains running through their 12 o'clock schedules" was probably my favorite bit. The fleeting flickers of images prelude the fleeting nature of memory - form really follows theme here and it works well!
