The Colours

And the trees
I envy them;
How they stand tall and proud
while their summery world dies around them;
in burning shades of red, firery oranges
and glowing yellows.
I run through their peaceful rain
and crackle through their bones
that lay rested as piles of leaves on the ground.
I want to eat them -
stuff their vibrant colours into my mouth
and hold their sorrowful song forever in my heart.
I want to shed my sins
like the trees do.
I want to hold their colours
forever in my heart.
