Familiar

There's something awfully familiar about
Lying with you in the dark
With your hands on my skin and
The fan whispering over us.
Your embrace makes me feel like

The night we met,
And we stayed up all night talking and
You told me all your secrets
And wishes
And regrets.
And I think
For a minute then
I loved you.

But I wouldn't tell
Even just myself.

And here we are talking again
Lying with you in the dark
With your hands on my skin and
The fan whispering over us.
And your kisses feel almost just like

The first time we laid here
With the moonlight streaming in
And your hands on my body;
Your kisses on my neck
But I remember,
Your breath seemed to be
Somewhere else.
And I think
For an hour then
I loved you.

But I wouldn't tell.
Not just yet.

And again tonight we find ourselves here
Lying with you in the dark
With your hands on my skin and
The fan whispering over us
Cooling the beads of sweat on our skin
And it feels just like
Eternity
In a single moment.

And in this eternity
I love you.
