We Gaze at Each Other Like We're About to Kiss

We glance into each other's eyes but then quickly turn away
we go on long walks in the midst of May
we pretend that we want to leave each other, when really we want to stay
we fade into each other like the shadows in the stillness of the day
we glance at each other but quickly turn away
covering our faces with the palms of our hand, in fear of what our expressions might say
we gaze at each other like we're about to kiss
but the moment's never right, and it's another moment that we miss
what is this?
Will our lips ever touch
maybe having these feelings might be a little too much
Then the rain slowly begins to drip and drop
and the winds slowly begins to swoosh and swirl around us and it doesn't stop
we find that gravity was the voice of reason
because in such a serene and intimate season
we gravitate to one another like magnets on a fridge
we find ourselves standing still on the golden gate bridge
and then without any further hesistation; we finally kiss
