Expiration

How can I pretend
Every-things okay
When I can't look you in the face
As the months grow longer, we slowly fade away
I wish it didn't have to be this way

Sometimes I wonder why
Aren't best friends supposed to last forever
We hold secrets, spill truth, and dream as one
Our vocabulary hangs on each other
And just ones laughter feels too woebegone

Late night chatter
Cross eyed lies
We hold each other up
No one can hurt us, only each other
The puzzle can't be done unless your included

Your hydrogen to my oxygen
The sounds of summer
The misfits, who fit together
Silliness is our motto
Friendship is our high

But these past few months
We've slipped away
Boarded different trains
And I don't understand, why we're growing away
It's like your not even there

We can't depart yet
Our hair isn't gray
Neither of us has passed away
So what's happening
Is our friendship past expiration
