Start Flying

The little bird marvels at the inky night sky
So peaceful, serene, great, and overwhelming
A comfortable cool breeze tickles its feathers,
But inside, the tiny bird feels lost, and terribly afraid of change
The future seems like such a scary thought,
Unknown with many twists in the plot

The bird likes life as it is
Growing up sounds dreadful
It isn’t ready for the real world
And it’s sure that it’ll lose the battle
Unprepared for what’s around the corner,
Doubts fill its head

It wonders and ponders, deep in thought
The bird questions the stars above
Hoping for an answer, an explanation
But time waits for no one, especially not such a little bird
Before he knew it, the wind picks up
And the sun peeks out from under the horizon

The branch starts shaking,
Signaling that it’s time
Still not sure and unconfident,
It spreads its small wings and steps forward
With one push, it's off and flying
Beginning its journey in life.
