Indestructible

Indestructible When I say the word rancid around my parents they think I'm talking about milk gone terribly wrong, or something else.... But when I say the word rancid around my friends, they know I'm talking about none other than the band Rancid, locals from California, and to us, one of greatest punk/grunge bands ever to exist.

The CD is called Indestructible and to me, that's exactly what it is. I love listening to the harsh sounds this CD contains.

The band consists of:

  • Tim Armstrong; guitar/vocals
  • Lars Frederinsken; guitar/vocals
  • Matt Freeman; bass/vocals
  • Brett Reed; drums

The CD holds tracks such as the title track Indestructible and others like Fall Back Down, Red Hoot Moon, David Courtney, Start Now, Travis Bickle, Memphis, Spirit of '87, Ghost Band, and more.

The sound of the album is totally raw, and amazing giving way to a greater style of music. This band is important not only for this album, but because they are part of the reason punk/grunge sounds this way. The sound is - as I've stated - raw, and very harsh: excellent, and very real. You can't match this sound with any of the "sissy" music you hear today with bands steering far from it such as Panic! At the Disco, Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance, and The Academy Is...

This album proves that Rancid is exactly what they say to be,indestructible, and in a matter of personal opinion a true classic deserving 41/2 out of 5. I recommend it to anyone who loves the sound of punk/grunge from the Bay Area, California or just loves the classic sound of punk in its glory days.
