Cobra Starship - Hot Mess
Cobra Starship’s third album debuted on August 12, 2009. When the album hit stores, many reviews on the album came out. Some positive while others were negative. Some people adored the album while others didn’t enjoy it as much.
The opening track to Hot Mess is entitled Nice Guys Finish Last. The track is a very nice way to open the album. The song is catchy. The lyrics fit well together and it’s got a nice rhythm to it. The song is one of those songs that you could listen to for hours and never get tired of it. It’s easy to get hooked on and a song that easily gets stuck in your head.
The first single released off of the album is entitled Good Girls Go Bad and just as the first track, it is equally as catchy. The song matches up with the video well and the video portrayed what was being said in the song well. The lyrics are amazing and Leighton Meester adds a nice touch to the song. Her vocals are good and they match with Gabe’s well.
One thing that does drag the album down quite a lot of the girl’s group vocals that are on some of the tracks. The vocals are annoying and drag down the songs a lot. The album could have been much better without those group vocals. They really dragged the song down.
The album all together is very catchy. All of the songs have very catchy beats to them and this is the kind of album you could listen to for hours and never get tired of it. The album was put together well and Cobra Starship did very well on it. It may not be their best, but it is still a very good album. Overall, I’d give this album an 8/10. It’s a good album and worth the money.
