Three Days Grace - Life Starts Now
Three years, and many tours later, Canadian rock band Three Days Grace are back with a highly anticipated new album. Life Starts Now was released September 22nd, 2009, and is a follow up to their 2006 release One-X. Question being though, will it stand up with the band's success?
The band is already known for having identifiable lyrics, so not much has changed in that category. Songs like "Goin' Down" and "Lost In You" contain lyrics you can relate to, maybe even dedicate to a loved one or even someone you may not like as well. Some of their lyrics keep up the angst, like "Goin' Down" you're goin down, you walk all over me, you never thought I'd be, the one who's laughing now. Others keep up the positive attitude, like "Lost In You" take this life and make it yours/All this hate take your heart and let it love again, you will survive it somehow.
Like One-X they have a decent mix of energetic tracks that you would love to blast such as "Bitter Taste", "The Good Life", and the first single, "Break", and tracks that are slower, like "Lost In You", "Last To Know," and the title track "Life Starts Now."
The band hasn't made big changes between their previous albums and "Life Starts Now," so long-time fans should be pleased. Though there doesn't seem to be much progression and maturity, Life Starts Now is still worth a listen or two. So if you feel like you would like to listen, go get yourself a copy.
