All Time Low - Dirty Work Indeed? - Comments

  • This review was a huge downer. It's basically all negative about the album.
I thought it was great. ATL IS changing it's style & that's perfectly alright. Also, you mention that a lot of the songs remind you of Nothing Personal and I completely disagree.

  • I completely disagree, but I appreciate that you thoroughly looked at each song and the review as a whole was very well written.

  • I honestly love the new album. I think they're just growing up and maturing, trying to figure out what they like right now. I support them 100%. :) Great reveiw!

  • I like how you've written this review but I have to say that you should keep one thing in mind - musicians grow up, they change their style, they explore all avenues before they find a style that they're comfortable with. That's what All Time Low have done on this album, they've explored a revenue that they aren't used to.

I must admit that I love this album more than Nothing Personal and you can see the lyrical change that Alex has worked on.

    Good structured review though :)

  • i have to say i have mixed feelings on the new ablum. i love all time low and up till now i could count the songs i didnt like on one hand, but with the new album i have to say i think about half of them i dont like too much. they may grow on me cause at first i didnt like nothing personal too much but now the only song off the album i dont ike is Too Much, but only time will tell.

and i agree, i feel like i have heard That Girl before but i also feel i have heard something like Get Down On Your Knees And Tell Me You Love Me

  • I loved your review! It was extremely well-written and informative.

I agree with you, however, as far as your opinion of the album is concerned. I like it, but not enough to buy it. I don't understand why some ATL fans don't like it, however. I mean, does anyone honestly expect music of substance from All Time Low? They've always just been a fun, pop-punk band and that's what people love them for. Each and every one of their albums have been like this. I don't understand the dissappointment.

  • I haven't picked up my copy yet :( But I keep hearing mixed reviews. Some say it's fantastic and others claim it's awful. I guess I'll just have to see for myself :/
FYI: Merry Christmas (Kiss My Ass) was a Christmas single :) I got it back in December and it's on my iPod. I remember it was a free download on their... Facebook page, I want to say, but I honestly don't remember.
Overall this was a pretty well-written article. I would have left out some of the "I"s for a more formal tone, but that's just me. Also, in the second or third paragraph when you started with "Secondly..." it was just a little awkward sounding to me. I would have just gone with "Second...", but that's totally just my opinion.
Good job :) I enjoyed reading this article

  • Merry Christmas (Kiss My Ass) was a Christmas single, I believe. I know that it came out around Christmastime anyways 'cause Dru had a theme of it in December.

I actually liked the album. I really only listen to All Time Low now when I'm running or biking, and the beats are fast enough to keep me focused and give me something to sing along to so I don't get tired. Time Bomb and Guts were actually my favorite tracks, with That Girl, I Feel Like Dancin', and Do You Want Me (Dead)? in my top five. Lovely song-by-song analysis :)

  • I think this was a very well written article. You didn't just immediately say "OMG I hate this album" or "It rocks!!!1!1". You were mature and gave the pros and cons of each song. I adore All Time Low and think Dirty Work is a good album. It does have some downfalls, but overall it has a very "All Time Low" sound. :)

  • I'm 100% agree with you on this article. As a long time fan, I recognized a fast difference between Dirty Work and the previous albums, more likely Nothing Personal.
They've grown, both musically and mentally, so I think it effects their music in a way and they wrote all of the songs in So Wrong, it's Right or Nothing Personal when they were 18/19(SWIR) and 20/21(NP), and here they are, 23 year olds and we got Dirty Work as the result.
Even though they're "different" now, but I don't really see any difference that would make them fall or fail, it just shows the world that they'll be staying in the industry for a long time, but just with a different style, because you can't really expect them to write things like they wrote back then in the age of 30 or later.

Those are just my blabbering, but good job on the article :)
