Marilyn Manson- Lest We Forget (The Best Of)

Marilyn Manson’s 2004 album Lest We Forget (The Best Of) is just as provocative as expected from the US shock rockers. The album features some of the band’s most controversial songs, including "Get Your Gunn", a song from the band’s first studio album released in 1994, which was voted number fifteen in Gigwise’s "20 most controversial songs of all time".

Despite the lack of songs from the band’s earlier albums, Lest We Forget holds a wide variety of their back catalogue, containing some of the band’s most popular covers, such as the Eurythmics’ "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)" and Soft Cell’s "Tainted Love", as well as some of their heavier material, from "Disposable Teens" to "Irresponsible Hate Anthem".

The album is mainly made up of songs from the band’s more famous albums such as Mechanical Animals, Holy Wood (In the Shadow of the Valley of Death) and The Golden Age of Grotesque. While it does not ignore the earlier material, the album only holds two songs from the band’s first two albums. While this could be useful for fans who only wish to listen to the more popular of the band’s songs, it is likely to be a disappointment to some of the band’s older fans.
