The Offspring - Americana

The Offspring - Americana The Offspring's Album Americana makes you want to dance in your pants. The album, released in 1998 may be 'old' but you'll never get tired of listening to it. The songs are from a nice 'fuck you' to a good laugh at the white guy. I love this band but till this day this album is still a oldie but a goodie.

The song that caught my ears in the most best way was Americana and Pretty Fly. The song made me crack up, it was no way that you could sit through the song and keep a straight face (Pretty Fly). The song Americana made my life, still today this song describes our society. From the tattoos, fast food, and the pressure to keep up with the idiotic standards society sets. The scary thing is that when they wrote:

Now give me my cable, fast food, four-by's, tat's right away
I want it right now cause my generation don't like to wait
My future's determined by
Thieves, thugs, and vermin
It's quite an excursion
But it's okay
Every thing's backwards
In Americana my way
Well my dream has come true
My vision has come true
I'm a product
Of my environment
So don't blame me, i just work here

To know that these lyrics almost define our society exactly is pretty scary in a way that these were written some time ago. This band has a sense of truthfulness that once you listen once you want to listen again, and again. From the lyrics to the guitar riffs. This album is amazing, I'd rate it a nine out of ten.
