A Pretty. Odd. Career Move?
This long awaited album has had fans going crazy with numerous puzzles at their site (panicatthedisco.com), and a roughly done version of the first track, "We're So Starving", that was posted on their MySpace.
There's been mixed responses about this album. Some are upset and happy about the sudden change of style, some saying that they were a 'cheap imitation of The Beatles'. They have also released their first single of this album which is Nine In The Afternoon on January 28, 2008. This video consists of a marching band, a dessert wasteland and a really big elephant. It sure is not easy to get what's going on with these boy's heads.
"We weren't afraid to be ourselves. It's a statement of we intend to do for our future." Ryan Ross had said. This album is one bold step by Panic At The Disco and I adore them because of that.
After releasing a digital single, "Mad As Rabbits" they went on the Honda Civic Tour where they will be headlining with The Hush Sound, Phantom Planet and Motion City Soundtrack will be tagging along as well. And their third single out of the album is "That Green Gentleman" which has been said to release it's video on May 2, 2008. A small bit of information about the video is that the video has "mini versions" of the members of the band.
