Marianas Trench: Unknown Band - Comments

I wouldn't say they're 'unknown'.
I'm Danish and a big fan of the Canadian music scene, and since I easily came across MT on myspace about a year ago, I'd say they're fairly known.
And with their new album, they've definately made a name for themselves. I just wish they could become even greater. Their music is full of feel, fun and flair - so much that I'm still not tired of listening to Masterpiece Theatre every day.

well, in Canada they have had 2 #1 hit's (Shake Tramp & Cross My Heart) so they arent that unknown. Although I preferred it way back when they were unknown, because it's nice to be in love with a band that no one has heard of :)

...I may be extremely unintelligent, but I had definitely heard of the band prior to know the name was referring to the deepest spot in whatever bla bla.

Marianas Trench is AMAZING. My absolute favorite band at the moment. Masterpiece Theatre is honestly such an amazing album, it's incredible. Their music is so inspiring, but I also love that they don't take themselves too seriously. They're hilarious!
Plus, they're even better live. Fantastic, actually. = ]

I don't really care for the music - especially Shaketramp which is just annoying - but any singer who can make fun of their own music video, well... You know they're worth-while.

Their my sister's favorite band. We went to see them a few weeks back at The Ex in Winnipeg. They put on an unbelievable show.

these guys are amazing i have been folowing them since "say anything" saw them twice in concert talked to Josh and Ian these guys are fuking hilariouse and imvery proud of our canadian boys.
i thinks its sad that so many amazing canadian bands (hedley, johnstones marianas trench etc) are not reconised anywhere but canada

I LOVE them! I've had a conversation with Ian before. They're just awesome. I've introduced a bunch of my American friends to them. :)

I've been a fan of these guys since the single of 'Say Anything' came out and that was before their first album came out.
I agree, they are amazing and I've been dying to seem them live.
But they may be unknown to the music scene, but if you come to Canada, everyone knows who they are.
Everyone is singing their lyrics.
And Everyone knows at least one dance move from the 'Shaketramp' video.
MTrench are so popular in Canada, but the second you step foot out of the country, they have the same popularity as a local high school band that just started up.
I totally agree with you and this article & this band is fabulous.
I really wish more than just the Canadians knew about Marianas Trench.

I found them out on youtube when someone on mibbia mentioned the show Video On Trial or something like that and I really like them.
A shame that they're not well known.
I find that their songs are funny, but not meant to be funny.

And Josh is just hilarious.
