This book sounds excellent. You did a nice explanation of the plot. However, I wish you hadn't mentioned that Katie dies. That kind of kills it for someone who has yet to read it.

Reading this made me want to read it, and I just finished the book only two hours ago, and I say, it's probably one of the best books I had ever read. (:

    Excellent review.

I really want to read this book now. I suppose it's a bit like Gone With the Wind. Sad ending. But compelling.

GWTW has such a horrible ending for Scarlett, the main character, because after all that happened in the book -- surviving the Civil War, the battle on Atlanta, the loss of the old ways, starvation, her parent's deaths... -- everybody leaves her.

Fortunately, someone in the 80s wrote a sequel in which Scarlett eventually gets peace of mind.

    Anyway...brilliantly written review.

The cover of my book is different so I think it may be an older version. This book is really good and very real. I thought I was the only one who read it; glad to know some other people have too.

Thanks. It was a great book.

It was the bible to me, before I lost it.

Excellent review. I was waiting for someone to write one on this book. Since I was way too lazy to do it. Very great.
