The first time I read the book I liked it, but for me I didn't like the ending. The last few sentences ruined the book for me somehow. Perhaps I don't totally grasp it because I read it at the end of a school day for two weeks, but who knows. Maybe I'll pick up those pages again in the future.
Wow, thats three of your things I've read, and the more i read the happier i get. Thank you again, for an intelligent critique of a novella that truly is a snapshot of human character. Having recently read Grapes of Wrath i can honestly say that Steinbeck inspires emotion like no-one else I've ever read.
Not only this, but To Kill A Mockingbird is on you favorite books list
I'm reading this story for my English GCSEs, I also read this last year, in English. At first, I found it quite boring, but that might have been the way my teacher read, but now, I find it interesting. It is quite influential. I feel so sorry for Lennie, how slow he is and how he doesn't mean any harm. The way it's been pieced together is amazing.
