Oh, and let me add one more comment to the peole that read them :)
When you're writing a reveiw such as theese, your never wrong; as long as you have the evidence and quotations, but also, you must see two sides to the question you are trying to proove to the audience, for instance, if theres love, there has to be hate, if theres tragedy, there has to be comedy.
So therefore, it is really like saying, in the eyes of the beholder. I should have really written two sides, but this is what my English teacher taught us at the time, and we had to write about how the modern day audience would have seen this play.
    Sorry for any inconveience.

This is my all time favorite play in the universe.
The sonnets are amazing and I agree with the fact that its a comedy.
Most teens think they're in love almost every week.
    Rarely do things work out.
Shakespeare was just trying to show us how rediculous we are to give up everything for 'true love'.
Who knows maybe they would have actually made it but I doubt it.
Anyway thats the end of my retard rant (:
    Well written artcile love(:

To the comment's below, I think you're both right, Back in Shakespearean times Shakespeare was actually a comedian, this is why Queen Elizabeth was so fond of him, back in 'days' only Comedy's were popular, but as the era's have outgrew, so has our dark sense of humor, so today this would be classed as tragic, but back then it was classed as funny.
Also Shakespeare was trying to do an interpretation of two strong households in England, it is still un-sure of which household he were trying to slate, because all the names appear to be roman.

"I think Shakespeare's message was no matter how bad things get love can always break hatred."

Again, I watch as Romeo and Juliet is once more deeply misinterpreted. Romeo and Juliet is not romantic, and it is not ultimately a tragic love story, either. Romeo and Juliet is a play written completely out of Shakespeare's love for satire. He is simply poking fun at how ridiculous, and incredibly over dramatic teenagers are when it comes to love. Shakespeare was laughing at Romeo and Juliet, not telling their tragic tale.

End of rant, my apologies. Despite my previous comments, you did a fantastic job on this article. It was well written, well analyzed, and well researched. :)

Romeo and Juliet has always been a favorite play of mine. The sonnet foreshadows on what's to come in the play, and the play itself is awesome.
