The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time
Christoper Boone is a 15 year old boy living with his father in England. He attends a school for children with special needs because he is autistic. Despite his disability, he knows every country in the world and its capital, as well as every prime number up to 7,057. Chris is a mathematical genius, incredibly observant, and has a photographic memory with the ability to record even the most minute details. However, he has no understanding of human emotion and interaction, and is totally incapable of lying.
One night, Christopher finds his neighbor's dog has been killed with a pitchfork. After being accused of the crime himself and taken into custody, he is determined to solve the mystery of who killed the poor animal. During his search Christopher meets many new people, and discovers shocking secrets about his family. Although his search for the killer ends halfway through the novel, a new and interesting mystery unfolds where its counterpart ends.
"The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time" by Mark Haddon, is one of the most enthralling books I've ever had the pleasure of reading. The speaker is thoughtful, observant, and incredibly logical. His complex yet simple way of thinking is remarkable and will keep you turning pages for hours on end.
