• I'm a little late to the comment party, but...
Sims 3 was slightly dissappointing after all the hype. I enjoyed making my sims, which each took an hour the first time. However, I wasn't that impressed with the hairstyles, but I love all the variety you can put into it with the create-a-style. You could have two sims with the exact same thing on but change the style and you'd barely know it's the same sim. :)
I was glad to see those blue screens gone, though at first I wasn't impressed with the town. Once your used to going places, you take it for advantage not having to call a taxi and get EVERYONE in the car, blah blah blah.
So after I thought about it, it IS a step up. I'm playing on Epic life, and I wanna do EVERYTHING I can for my sims, meaning learning all the skills, getting as many life reward thingies (they're actually more convienent than you'd think).
My BIGGEST disappointments:
-No piano (I once had Alexander Goth play that until he died. xD It was an accident though)
-No hot tub/no hot tub baby making
-No alien abductions and man pregnancies
-No videos (for baby making, abductions, first kisses, etc.)
And I think that's it...for now, haha.

• I remember the good old days of The Sims 1... Accidently killing a person in one of my fathers families, then making it worse by saving it =/
And Sims 2 was such a massive step up from Sims 1. I have to say, it's the best of all three.
Sims 3 didn't improve as much as Sims 2 had from Sims 1. I find it's still basically again. And the suckiest thing I've come across: I may have all those expansion packs for Sims 2 (I can have pets, and the weather will change) but now I'll have to wait for all those expansion packs to become available to PURCHASE. Why couldn't they just come with the game? Do they not have enough money yet?
Sure, Sims 3 has much better custimisation opportunities, but I too, feel as though it was a let down.
None the less, it's still addicting. *"*

• the only thing i found interesting about the sims 3 was creating a sim and having the ability to change funiture, hair, clothing to any color you want. other than that i didnt find it as good as the 2nd

• I'm not to impressed with the game. I love it and it's really fun, but some many things that would make game play that much better aren't working. :/

• I agree with Matthew Bellamy.

I had so much custom content and what not in Sims 2, and it's a bummer letting it go. I mean, it didn't take long for them to make some beautiful content you could download that looked real! Tattoos, piercings, hair, whatever!

So yeah, Sims 3 is pretty awesome. But Sims 2 is still better :)

• The store thing is completely agreeable, but the town part. I know that it sucks but I don't think the town was released until a few weeks after the game released... I can't be certain though...

• I like the sims three, I just liked the sims 2 a little more :D
The extange and store is a total rip off, I tried to add stuff to my game (Like I downloaded stuff to my computer) But it didn't go to my game but it said I did. Eather it didn't work, or, me in the internet have a mutually aquard relationship.

• I think it was a little over-hyped, and I'm much more familiar with my Sims 2. I feel as if the controls reverted back to the Sims 1 style, and I stopped playing it. I have more families and familiar faces on the Sims 2 and I don't want to let it go. <3

• I'm a part of the danish "The Sims Selected" which is 50 advanced players from Denmark.
I've been playing The Sims since i was little and i was very happy when i heard that a Sims 3 were coming, but when i bought it i was VERY disappointed! I thought that EA would have been so smart to put weather in...><
But i agree on your acticle ^^
The Sims 3 gives you alot of oppetunies to really detail your Sims life!

• I agree with mostly all of this article. I heard from people that it's basically the same as the sims 2 but with some things taken out and put in. I've been a sims fan since The Urbz: Sims in the City.

• I am pleased with it. Although, I do hate the fact that you can only have one active household. Why should we have to chose one we want to play every time we click the neighborhood. we should be able to chose, like we could in the sims 2.

• It runs alot better than either sims or sims 2.
I am very pleased with it, especially the option of going out of the house so fast,

• It actually runs much better on my computer than Sims 2. :D
I love it. I'm waiting for a Seasons-like extension pack and for bigger fan sites with objects.

• Flawed Perfection,
Does your computer meet the game requirements?
If it does then did you install the update from TheSims3 site? It fixes quite a few bugs.
Also, if you have a Vista you may have to change some settings. I have to change settings to play Sims 2.
