Pokemon Black 2 and White 2 - Comments

Really? I've never fully finished playing Black and White, I just assumed they did as well. My bad. I think it would be pretty cool if they managed to get to 1000. It would (as much as I dislike the idea myself) kind of be like a milestone for the entire series.

I kill everything with fire. Effective until you hit the water-types, in which case I just die multiple times. I have a terrible Pokémon strategy.

You can only go to one region in the games. Gold/Silver/HG/SS were the only games that let you go to a different region, and that was only because Kanto and Johto are connected. No other main game is multi-regional. I'm not really sure what you're talking about with that. If I'm remembering correctly, the creator has said he hopes the series can get up to 1,000 Pokemon. With the release of X and Y, it'll take the count up to at least 700 so they're well on their way. I can't remember where I read that though so I don't actually know how accurate that is.

Some of the Pokemon do look similar but they're also based on different breeds. Like Meowth and Purrloin, they're both cat Pokemon but they're different breeds of cats. Ekans and Snivy, both snakes but different breeds of snakes. Galvantula scared me a lot at first, I kept wondering what would be supereffective against that monstrosity........ Then I remembered Fire-types exist. Now I just kill them with fire. c:

I don't know, I just feel like there's a ridiculous amount of Pokémon to catch now especially seeing as you have 2-3 different regions per game, all with different sets of Pokémon. Although I do admit, that is kind of the allure of the new games. A few of them look really similar too. Although I am a big fan of Piplup. It's just so freakin' cute! And that thing sounds terrifying. Thank God I've never come across it in a game before. I think I would have cried.

How could they not be needed though? If the series kept the old Pokemon only, then there wouldn't be much of a point to making new games. The point of new games is to add new things to the series, that includes adding new Pokemon. I think a lot of the new Pokemon are just as good as the ones from Kanto. Like Audino. It's so fluffy and cute. :3 Of course, there are bad ones, like the abomination known as Galvantula. A four foot tarantula should just not exist at all. God that thing had to be Game Freak's worst idea. >.< It's kind of funny how cute Joltik is though but how horrible its evolution is.

Yeah, definitely. I have to admit, when HeartGold and SoulSilver came out I was really excited because it was the old game I loved with new stuff added in. I'm the same, I've memorised all of the games so a change every now and again is quite nice. I guess my main issue with it is that they added tons of new Pokémon in. I just didn't think they were needed.

In a way, I can sort of understand where you're coming from. A lot of older fans seem to have an issue with being able to accept the changes that Pokemon has gone through. I guess I really don't fully understand and probably never will since I've never been one of those fans. Personally, I get a little bit tired of Kanto every now and again. I've played through those games so many times, I have them practically memorized and know them by heart. I know everything down to the little details about the games and the region, so it's gotten a little tiring all these years. I mean, I still love Kanto since it's the region I started with but a new region like Unova or whatever the 6th Gen one is going to be called are a nice refresher for the series from the same old ones I've been playing since I was like six.

I don't know. I'm one of those people who believes that they should have left it with the original Pokémon. I think there was a certain charm to the original series, but I definitely am willing to give Black and White 2 a try after reading this. And you do make a valid point about the graphics.

I've seen a lot of people claim that Game Freak has taken Pokemon "too far" but I really don't get how. Maybe it's just because I love Pokemon a lot and am willing to give everything they do a try, but I don't see how they've taken it too far. Game Freak cannot stick with the old Gameboy graphics, this series would crash and burn if they did that. Every gaming series must keep up with how technology changes.

I adore Pokémon, but I'm beginning to think they've taken it too far. I kind of miss my Gameboy graphics. I hated Black/White (I never bothered completing them and they still stand as the only Pokémon games I haven't completed), but someone's told me that Black and White 2 are better, so I might have to get a copy and try it out. Your article has also kind of convinced me to get a copy. The difficulty feature sounds awesome. I'd quite like to try and be the most awesome Pokémon master ever at a more difficult level than usual

I've been playing since Pokemon Yellow came out. XD I love the games so much. Black 2/white 2 are my favorites... but I've been playing Pokemon Platinum lately. Pokemon is all I ever play. XD
