Little Nicky

Little Nicky A film about Nicky, the son of Satan(played by Adam Sandler). Nicky is constantly being picked on by his older and tougher brothers Cassius and Adrian. With his dad and other family in Hell being what he has to fall back on. Even being the son of Satan though, Nicky has a hard time finding his place in Hell.

As Nicky's father Satan (played by Harvey Keitel) is up to his 10,100th year of service as Satan, Cassius, Adrian, and Nicky anxiously wait to hear who their father will appoint to be the new ruler of Hell. Unfortunately the decision that Satan had come to was not one that either Cassius or Adrian wanted to hear. Their father felt as if none of his sons were ready to take responsibility as the ruler of Hell because he did not feel as if any of them knew the balance between good and evil.

In order to rebel against their father, Cassius and Adrian decided to go through the gates of Hell to make their way to Earth. The two wish to corrupt as many souls as they possibly can in order to create their own Hell on Earth. In doing this, they freeze the gates of Hell, and no new souls are able to enter Hell, causing Nicky's father to slowly deteriorate.

In which case, since no one else is able to go to Earth to fight Cassius and Adrian, Nicky is obligated to fight his brothers in order to save his father's life. When Nicky finally arrives to Earth he finds himself on the tracks of a speed line in Manhattan, New York. Only to be hit by a train. Regardless of what happened to Nicky though, if he were to die, he would just end up right back in Hell.

While on Earth, Nicky encounters new friends-one of which is actually a talking demon dog, love, and the deliciousness of Popeye's chicken. He even finds out his own mother is an angel in Heaven.

Little Nicky is a movie that makes me smile no matter how many times I watch it. This is also one of those types of movies where you have to really be into the "slapstick" kind of humor. Then again, odd humor is pretty much what Adam Sandler is all about. However not only does he throw his speech completely in this movie, but its almost as if he puts as many surprises as he could possibly think of into this movie.

Sure, the critics gave Little Nicky a bad review, but you have to remember. Those critics are usually just old people who don't know how far some crazy producers are willing to take their comedy.
