I honestly think the only people casted PERFECTLY were James and Charlie. Most of them were close. But Victoria and Carlise were totally wrong. Looking back Carlise wasn't terribly wrong, but Victoria? Oh no no. The hair wasn't right at all. Laurent wasn't exactly right either. No to sound racist, but he wasn't supposed to be black. x.x And I expected more of a romance between them.
But I guess. For what it was, it was good. It's somethign I'll buy on DVD, but I wasn't as impressed as I thought I would be.
Then again, who am I to say that? I've yet to find a movie as good as the book. xD
I always thought of Victoria with hair like Hayley Williams from Paramore.. Fiery Red like explained in one of the books. I thought Jasper was awesome. Even though he always did look like he was in pain. but hey, I'm a twilight fan, I'm going to love anything really. lol. I just can't wait till Breaking Dawn comes out and on DVD too. So then I can annoy my parents even more and play all four in a row. Twilight. New Moon. Eclipse. and Breaking Dawn!
That was probably the most awkward movie I've ever seen. They actors looked like they were acting. And Kristen Stewart and Whats-His-Face Pattinson had absolutely no chemistry. And what was up with all the weird moments where Mozart was playing in the background and Bella and Edward were talking, but you couldn't here what they were saying? That was wierd. And seriously, Jasper looked a little mentally disabled the entire film.
great review, H.
I agree about their home, but i watched it with an open mind and therefor the misses weren't really noticed till the 4rth time i saw it, (on the internet).
I feel Robert was 90% leading to Perfect. Kristen could have used more devotion and less Outbursts (Perfect in her Pain Scene in the end, though)
I thought Jasper was Great, But damn them for not mentioning his Ability, that was a disappointment. I also felt that the meadow Scene could have been a lot more romantic. It being a Key Scene in the film. Edward needed more of a Glow and there was too much Charlie/Bella time aswell.. they could have used 10 minutes from that to explain Alice and Carlisle more, maybe they're saving it for new moon.
I agree it was 'okay' but i have complete faith in Weitz, so.
Well, in transferring the book into a movie, it's reasonable that they were pressed for time. Producers work on a budget and have to squeeze almost 500 pages into 2:30 hours or less. I found the pacing a little cramped even without Jasper's talent and Alice's backstory included; besides, in the first book, the backstories admittedly did little to advance the story. I thought they got along fine.
I agree, they neglected the power of Jasper. And the whole history of Carlisle. The friend that I'm with when watching the movie kept on asking me a lot of questions because he haven't read the book, there are many parts that lack that are needed. But the movie wasn't that bad, but I'm quite dissapointed on some parts of it. But all in all, as you said, it was "okay". ^-^
in the movie they used parts from new moon like when charlies friend died.
that was an important part of new moon and it ruined twilight because i dont see the point of have that part in this one. now every body know there is no possibilty for a sequal.
And about the review: I agree that it didn't follow the book well. I'm also a Jasper fan and was disappointed that his power was ignored. As well as Carlisle's whole history being forgotten...
But I think more people should forget about the book when they watch the film and just try to enjoy it. It really isn't that bad a film as some people claim it is.
I've started to go off Twilight since I wrote this =/
