Freaks

Freaks Freaks, a film about the lies within a traveling circus/freak show, was made in 1932. The actors and actresses in the movie were actually born with their deformities and mental disabilities. The movie truly shows that because you are different, does not mean you don't have a heart.

When Hans (a midget in the side show.) falls in love with a gorgeous trapeze artist names Cleopatra, he leaves his fiance Frieda for her. Cleo really does not love Hans, but marries him anyway for his money. While Cleo is having an affair with the strong man, Hercules, Frieda spends her time trying to convince Hans that Cleo is marrying him, only for his large inheritance he is supposed to receive.

Hans ignores Frieda's pleas and begging, and marries Cleo anyway. Meanwhile, Cleo and Hercules develop a plan to kill Hans, take his inheritance and move out of the circus away from the "freaks" that the so desperately hate.

At Cleo and Hans wedding party, Cleo is faced with the reality of who she's now married to. While drinking champagne with Hercules and causing a scene with loud laughing and their drunken stupidity, the side show freaks all ban together, and welcome Cleo into their world, now that she is married to Hans. One midget stands on the table and begins chanting "Gooble gobble, gooble gobble, we accept you, one of us!" Everyone takes a sip of wine out of a cup. When it is finally Cleo's turn to drink, she grabs the cup, throws it, insults them all, and runs off.

When it's time for the circus to move on, they pack up and begin moving. Hans becomes very ill in the process. He finds out that he's been poisoned by his wife. Everyone becomes enraged when they find out Cleo did it, and they hunt her down.

Because of her cruel ways (calling them all freaks, monsters, creatures, not human.) the circus freaks turn her from Cleopatra, the trapeze artist, into The Feathered Hen, a deformed woman with no legs and no vocal cords to speak. She is put on display and moves around in her cage with her hands, sqwaking like a chicken.

In the original story, Hercules is supposed to be castrated and turned into a soprano singer.
