Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince At 1:00 on Wednesday, July 15, I saw the movie "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince". From the moment Hedwig's theme began to play (you know, the song they play at the beginning of every Harry Potter movie) to the end credits, I was on the edge of my seat, despite having been desperately tired before the movie began.

The 2 1/2 hour movie was filled with action, adventure, comedy, drama, romance, suspense, tragedy. It blew me away. Of course, the movie left several things out from the book, which I won't mention for those of you who don't want anything spoiled, and they even added in a big scene that wasn't in the book, because the director claimed he wanted an action sequence in the middle of the movie. While, this unexpected scene did add something to the movie, I didn't quite understand why they had to add that, and leave out so much other action from the book that could've filled up the middle of the movie quite nicely.

I laughed and I cried in this movie. The actors are all growing up, and I definitely applaud them for still being able to portray characters who are a few years younger than their actual age. Their chemistry is phenomenal, and you can tell it's real. They've grown up on the Harry Potter set together, and I, for one, would be devastated if they had decided to use different actors. It is confirmed that Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, and Daniel Radcliffe will continue playing the Golden Trio for the remaining two movies following the tales of the Deathly Hallows.

I would definitely recommend seeing this movie. I'm going to see it again in theaters actually. If you're looking for a nice, quiet movie that you can sleep through (which two of my friends' fathers tried to do), then this is NOT the movie for you. It's loud and thrilling; there's a little bit of something in it for everyone.
