I loved the movie and agree 100%...I would have to add that I was disappointed in the dead water creature thing. That was Golum knock of. (The creep little thing from lord of the rings if you don't know.)

Other than that it was good. And great review!

I loved this movie! Yeah everyone freaks out about everything is changed and a lot is missing. Well, if you wanted to see an eight hour movie...then you would have been happy. I think the writers and director did an amazing job at figureing out what really needed to be in the movie, and altering things a little to make the movie glid through the scences, rather than become choppy.

I anticipated the Inferi grabbing Harry's wrist. I was thinking, "Nahh, that wouldn't happen, it's too obvious." :P

I thought it was very well-directed, though if you hadn't read the books, you probably wouldn't have any idea what was going on. There was one scene in particular that stood out to me, and it wasn't really a scene - after the final battle, there's a shot of the Great Hall, empty, the windows broken with light streaming through, and it's about a minute-long of total silence. It was the first time that something like that has happened in the films, and I liked it.

I greatly enjoyed the movie and I have to say its my favorite out of the movies so far because even though it was another movie in the series, it felt so different from the other first five. It felt more powerful (maybe because of the switch of directors)
Though like everyone else I was upset about how many things they left out. And even though I know they can´t fit anything...I still wish they could have added some more things, and at the same time, fixed some things they altered that were not in the book. For instance, Harry and Ginny´s kiss. I was ready for the passionate, surprising kiss that Harry delivers to ginny when they win the Quidditch cup, but no, the kiss scene was totally changed. And as cute as it was, I was still hoping for the original scene. Another thing was Hermione and Ron, they made the whole "They like each other but are too stubborn to do anything about it" so obvious in this book, they channeled the plot of the book from learning about Tom riddle´s past to more of the growing romance between the main characters. I think know, movie watchers who have not read the novels will be throughly confused for the next movies and will have to bring along someone who has read the novels to explain throughtout the entire movie. But again, I did like this movie. I just wished, like everyone else, that I could have written the script and directed the movie to fit it perfectly how I want it. Because I know all of you who feel like some things should have changed would want to do the same.

I wish they'd left out the burrow scene and added more of Tom Riddle's story.

That's the only real gripe I have

(well, that and the Harry Ginny kiss. It's supposed to be an epic 'omg!' kiss. Not exactly the same as his kiss with Cho Chang).

Otherwise, it was great. David Yates really brings out the feel of the book much better than the other director's. OOTP and HBP while have had things that have irked me (and much more to do with the script than directing) have still brought about the vibe you get while reading the book, while that was the biggest thing the first four movies lacked.

This movie made me like Harry Ginny, I just loved it when she comforted him at the end of the movie.

I'm still mad that they did not do Dumbledore's funeral!

they also don't show how ron and hermoine are prefects. but they don't do that in the fifth book either. i mean it isn't a major event but it matters to me.

the movie was good. but i don't like how they added scenes that never happened and how they left out details that i felt were important. my friend hasn't read the books so she keeps bugging me to tell her who R.A.B. is but i won't. its so funny.

The movie did not meet my expectations. The one and only thing I ask in every movie is to play the theme song at the end of the movie, did they in the half blood prince? No!

I was really disappointed, and I think they left out a lot of details that needed to be included. I was really bummed about Bill too, and Tonks and Lupin.

Sighh. Hopefully the next one will be much better (:

They messed up the kisses, they tried to make it funny, they were to wrapped up in the effects and stuff.
But all together i still liked it. I agree, best out of them all.

I personally was really disappointed with it.
They missed out vital points, such as the fact that the Horcruxes are Hogwarts related. It's going to be very strange in the last 2 films for people who haven't read the books when Harry Potter suddenly knows what he is looking for.
Also didn't like the missing out of Bill, the fact that Lupin and Tonks were together, when all the way through the book the fact they aren't together is constantly pointed towards, and the whole Burrow scene, and that the DA weren't fighting at the end.
Although I know it wouldn't be as good as the book, as always, but I feel they've missed real important points.

And just as everyone else has said, great article. :D

I went to the midnight premiere with my friends and we all loved it. Just like movies that came before the director did an excellent job of capturing the emotions and actions of the characters. I love that we're finally seeing things blossom between Ginny and Harry, and Hermione and Ron.
The only part I didn't care for was the ending. It felt rushed and abrupt. I can't wait for next installment to come out. My friends and I are anxiously awaiting it. :)

    Harry Potter is amazing! lol.

Nice article, very well written...! :]

I liked the movie, probably one of my favourites, of course though it doesn't even compare to the books. I felt it was done very nicely, but the only thing that I didn't care for is the lack of action with the battle that suppose to be near end. Ahhh well, can't fit it all.

The movie disappointed me. I was expecting so much more out of it. Like the fighting scene at the end of the movie, it just mad me cry because there was hardly any of it. And then they didn't even have the funeral for Dumbledore. Why couldn't they have that. Even then they had no mention about Bill and Fleur's wedding. Are they not even going to make it in the seventh movie? The movie was great but it left me with more questions then actual satisfaction.

    Very nice article.

Yes, I agree that some of the memories should have been kept. I really wanted to see the memory with the Gaunts but sadly, no scene for me. The whole Weasley's house on fire, well, I have no opinion on it. But my personal opinion is that out of the MOVIES, it was the best one.
