The Lost Boys

The Lost Boys If you like vampires, then check this film out and add it to your film collection. "The Lost Boys", a film about two brothers who slowly become convinced that their town is plagued by vampires, and in the process learn that the supernatural is everywhere, even though it's unseen.

Set in Santa Carla, California in 1987, there are all sorts of people, but every night, some of them go missing (which explains so many "missing" posters on the poster-board).

The opening introduces David (Kiefer Sutherland), Dwayne (Billy Wirth), Paul (Brooke McCarter) and Marko (Alex Winter), the four titled "Lost Boys" of the film, as they step onto the merry-go-round on the Santa Carla Boardwalk. The Boardwalk is the happening place in Santa Carla, with all sorts of things, including rides, games and outdoor concerts at night.

"Sleep all day.
Party all night.
Never grow old.
Never die.
It's fun to be a vampire."

The tagline says it all. The film has two things every vampire film needs - fangs and blood.

Luckily, where there are villains, there are also heroes - in the form of the Frog brothers Edgar and Alan (played by Corey Feldman and Jamison Newlander). Also along for the ride is Sam Emerson (Corey Haim), a comic book collector who likes MTV and reading his comics, and his brother Mike (Jason Patric), who likes lifting weights and riding his motorcycle. Their mother, Lucy Emerson (Dianne Wiest), has gone through a divorce and is in need of a job. She meets a man named Max (Edward Herrmann), who nicely suggests that she work at his video store.
