This was a very well-written review. I actually really liked the book because the writing of it and thought process of the author is different than other stories out there.
I absolutely loved the movie because of the amazing effects and how everything was expressed. The end of the book has a lot more to it than the movie so that might be why it seemed unsatisfactory.

What? I thought this movie was horrible. I hated that the girl who could see ghosts didnt even have that big of a part in the movie like I thought it would of, and I hated the part with the aunt or whoever she was with the laundry soap all over flowing like all of a sudden it was a comedy. In my opinion I thought it was one of the worst movies I saw in 2010

I never read the book, although I'd like to, but the movie was amazing. I nearly cried most of the time, along with my friend. But we kept joking around that Michael Jackson would pop out from beind a tree or something, so that kept the mood lightened.

Mark Wahlberg is a jaw dropping actor. He did an amazing job in this movie, I fell more in love with him than before. (:

The movie was amazing, eventhough at first when they showed her in the 'in between' i thought it turned into a beatles movie.
And my goodness, Stanley Tucci can play one great creeper!

to stardoodler76, the thing about the book for me is that I just reading it, I couldn't really grasp how Susie felt. Yeah, the author described it, but the emotions, to me, didn't really pop out. A good book in my opinion has to make you feel the same emotions as the character is feeling at any given moment in time. Some people think differently. You might like the book, so give it a try.

i first read the book when it first came out and i really liked it! i'm not a big reader.... but i thought it was really good, besides the creepy murder scene......XD
And i heard that the movie was really bad compared to the book, but honestly no movie is as good as its book! when reading you imagine the story in your head and you make it how you want it, so when you see it on the big screen you usually tend to like your imagination version better. But for others it can be the other way around! everyone has their own opions and mine is that i live both the movie and the book! <3

jilliannicoletheshiz: No one is whining, simply commenting on your article. You put forth your opinion, and now others are putting forth theirs. There's no need to get defensive. No one is putting down your article or your opinion. There's a commenting section for a reason, so people can comment on your article, on both the topic and on your writing. If you can't deal with that, then perhaps you should think twice before posting a public article.

I didn't watch the movie because I thought it looked super cheesey,
And I felt that Hollywood would ruin a great book.
Also, too much CGI is a turn off.

I probably will see it anyway, but I doubt it will live up to the book, which I thought was amazing.

i thought the movie was just boring and slow. I really didn't feel mch suspense. I read the book but it was ok. You probably would have noticed the real difference between the two if you actually read the whole book. the movie felt completely different then the book. even the plot was shifted slightly

What is it you don't like about the book (without giving anything away)? I just bought it yesterday and I plan on starting it like tonight or tomorrow.

I've seen the movie and read the novel. Personally, I found the novel much more effective than the movie. I think a lot of the emotions of the book were lost in the movie because more emphasis was placed on the aesthetic value of Susie's after-life; it overshadowed what I thought to be more important issues of the novel.

I loved the book and found it ten million times better than the movie. The movie, to me, didn't make a whole lot of sense. The book made everything seem more realistic than the movie. The movie didn't even follow the book very well and I was ticked off when I watched the movie.

But I should be used to things like that because movies are usually never as good as the book.

Very well written.
I personally have never read The Lovely Bones, but I have seen the movie. And
I agree it kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time.

The movie was very emotional and had tears spilling from my eyes as I screamed at the television for Susie. This movie is definitely on my christmas list, for it is one of the best movies I have seen this year by far. :)
