Bridesmaids: The One Chick Flick You Can NOT Miss

Kristen Wiig shines in what has to be the best movie of the summer, if not the year.

Annie Walker (Wiig) is floating through life, and lately the tides have been rough. After being forced to close her bakery "Cake Baby" due to bankruptcy, her boyfriend subsequently dumps her. To make matters worse, her living arrangements are less than ideal: a creepy British guy and his disgusting (but hilarious) sister. And her "relationship" with the grotesque pig (the ever so handsome Jon Hamm) who refers to their "sex buddies" status on the regular, is the icing on her sad, lonely cake.

When her best friend since childhood, Lillian (the always entertaining Maya Rudolph) announces her engagement, Annie's enthusiasm, or rather lack thereof, makes to be one of the funniest scenes in the movie. Lillian asks Annie to be her Maid of Honor, and has to seemingly compete for the title with fellow bridesmaid, Helen, the wife of the groom's boss and Lillian's new close friend. Adding to the chaos are the wacky remaining bridesmaid.

As Lillian's wedding day draws nearer, everything that could go wrong for poor Annie..does. Her life takes a turn for the worst-from getting fired for calling a customer "a little cunt" to getting in a huge blowout fight with Lillian at the Bridal shower and having her invitation retracted. Not to mention a failed bachelorette party to Las Vegas that IS the funniest scene in the movie. Somehow in the middle of it all, Annie manages to find herself a charming, handsome cop with an even more charming accent. In the end, Annie and Lillian patch things up and everyone lives happily ever after.

If you love laughing, this movie is a must-see. While more mature audiences are only recommended-it is rated R for a reason-this is a movie for the ages. The cliche story lines are anything but in this refreshing female-driven comedy. Even the boys are invited to watch and can enjoy the gross-out humor and poop jokes.

The acting is surprisingly just as impressive as the jokes, and I would absolutely recommend watching this film.
