Jeff Who Lives at Home

Jeff Who Lives at Home is a brilliant new movie starring Jason Segal, Ed Helms, and Susan Sarandon. The film follows Jeff, played by Segal, as he tries to figure out the meaning of life and follow the signs to find his destiny. Since the passing of his father, Jeff has become obsessed with the idea that there is a reason for everything. When he gets a phone call early one morning, by someone looking for a man named Kevin, Jeff believes it is a sign and goes on a journey to find Kevin, and in the process, reconnects with his brother (Ed Helms).

The movie is a little slow moving, but it was interesting enough to keep my attention. I enjoyed watching everything unfold and see how the little things came together to create a brilliant story. The film’s ending was superb and really couldn’t have been better.

The acting was phenomenal. Jason Segal was brilliant as usual, and it was nice to see him as this bizarre, insanely quirky character, as opposed to his usual well-rounded characters. Ed Helms did a great job as Segal’s sarcastic, overly pessimistic brother. His acting was excellent and his character bounced very well off of Segal’s. Susan Sarandon, who played the men’s mother, had a miniature story of her own, that unknowingly connected to the boys and added a female perspective to the film.

Jeff Who Lives at Home was an overall excellent movie and I recommend it to anyone who is a fan of movies like Our Idiot Brother and Rum Diary.
