Mother's Day

Mother’s Day is a brilliant new horror film starring Rebecca De Mornay, Jaime King, Patrick John Flueger, and Warren Kole.

The film follows Daniel and Beth as they throw a housewarming party to welcome their friends into their new home. The party starts off good with laughs and drinks, but suddenly the group hears noises. Three criminal brothers have taken refuge in the home, which used to belong to their mother. The brothers take the party goers hostage and force a doctor to tend to their brother’s wounds. The houseguests think these criminals are their worst nightmare, but they haven’t met Mother, yet.

This movie was creepy in all the right ways. The horror was scary in the sense that it could be true, which made the film more exciting and believable. The plot wasn’t overly absurd, but still had a good amount of twists to keep it interesting. It was pretty gory, and I wouldn’t recommend it to people who are squeamish.

The acting was pretty good for a horror movie. Rebecca De Mornay, who played Mother, did a brilliant job with her character and was able to make her insanely creepy, while still appearing to have compassion for the other characters.

I would recommend this film to anyone looking to watch a good, creepy horror movie.
