12 Monkeys

12 Monkeys is an excellent science fiction film, released in 1995, with an all-star cast including Bruce Willis, Brad Pitt, and Madeleine Stowe.

The film follows James Cole, played by Bruce Willis, who comes from a death ridden future, in which, a virus has taken out most of the population. This deadly virus was created and released in 1996, by a group who call themselves the 12 Monkeys. Cole is one of many men chosen to help restore the future, by going back in time and stopping the 12 Monkeys from releasing the virus.

Unfortunately, when Cole is sent back to the past, he is sent to 1990 instead of 1996, and is mistakenly put into an asylum, after claiming that he was sent from the future. While there he makes a friend, Jeffrey Goines, played by Brad Pitt, and meets his psychiatrist, Kathryn, played by Madeleine Stowe. These characters end up being the key to stopping the virus, in more ways than one.

James Cole soon learns that his journey will test everything he knows, including his perception of the past, present, and future.

Overall, 12 Monkeys was an excellent film. It had the perfect amount of mystery, that kept you wondering until the very end, and just the right amount of action to hold the attention of the viewers.
