The Conjuring

The Conjuring was never at the top of my list for scary movies to watch this weekend. However, a relative of mine has recommended this movie for my family to watch and so I got curious. I began reading reviews and watching the trailers of this movie to quench my curiosity. I don’t know if it’s only me or the trailers and pictures already gave me the creeps.

Based on a true story, two paranormal investigators, Ed and Lorraine Warren are brought to a house where they must confront the evil spirits that haunt the house of the Perron family. As they confront the spirits that lurk inside the house, they are drawn closer to the past that has brought terrible occurrences to those who have owned their land before.

Patrick Wilson, who starred as Ed Warren has done a terrific job playing the paranormal investigator. It isn’t a surprise to find him in another horror movie as he has also starred in the movie Insidious which was also directed by the same director, James Wan. Vera Farmiga, who starred as Lorraine Warren has done a splendid job as well, adding just the right amount of terror and fear at the proper time of the film.

The creaking of doors, the small tugs and pulls by an unknown force and the small whispers of anonymous people have built an extremely horrifying movie that will keep your eyes shut once in a while.
