The Labyrinth

The Labyrinth Labyrinth is a fun-packed 1986 fantasy film about family and friendship starring Jennifer Connelly and David Bowie and directed by Jim Henderson.

Late for babysitting her baby brother Toby, Sarah (Connelly) gets into an argument with her step-mother and runs up to her room upset. Annoyed to find one of her teddy bears called Lancelot missing, she storms into her brother’s room where she inadvertently conjures up Jareth the Goblin King (Bowie) who takes Toby away to the castle in the center of the Labyrinth where he will be turned into a goblin. Sarah has a choice: live in a dream-world or try and save her brother from Jareth’s clutches.

Resolved to finding her brother, Sarah sets off towards the Labyrinth in the hope of getting to the castle before her thirteen hours are up.

With the help of her friends Hoggle the goblin, Sir Didymus the foxy knight and his trusty sheepdog Ambrosius and Ludo the big friendly beast, Sarah continues on the long journey to the castle where she meets The Fire Gang (who can detach their heads), solve riddles and escape The Bog of Eternal Stench.

With music written and performed by Bowie, Labyrinth is a film for all ages that you can enjoy again and again.
