The 21st Century Is When Everything Changes - Torchwood Series 2 Yes, as many of you sci-fi buffs out there have heard. It has been confirmed that James Marsters of Buffy and Angel stardom will play Captain John Hart on the series 2 premiere of Torchwood.

Captain John Hart is said to be a rogue time agent whom series main character, Captain Jack Harkness has known in his past. The online world as been buzzing about this bit of information since summer and we’ve all been anxiously awaiting to see our alien-fighting team in action in a fresh episode.

In a recent interview with actor Gareth David-Lloyd who plays Ianto, he reveals that his character will become more developed and more hands-on this season which is great news for fellow Ianto fans like myself.

As far as new crossover news, Martha Jones, the brilliant character from Doctor Who played by Freema Agyeman will be guest starring in three episodes of the new series working alongside with Torchwood before joining the Doctor again for the final half of the new series.

This season is expected to feature a newly unified team, having had to learn to be on there on while Jack was away for months, a year to him as we witnessed in the final few episodes of Doctor Who series 3. Series 2 shall also see a lighter side, more laughs and less internal character fights. This new series will certainly prove to be as exciting and lovely, if not greater. And yes, there shall be a return to the stopwatch.

Torchwood series 2 premieres on January 16th in the UK on BBC2 and January 22nd in the US on BBC America.
